ABOUT THE COMPANY
Originally from Nova Scotia, Paul is thrilled to be heading Summer Theatre Smiths Falls’ inaugural season. Past directing credits include Lungs, Perfect Pie and The Shape of a Girl (Cart Before The Horse Theatre) They All Do It and A Curious Mishap (Odyssey Theatre) and My Name is Rachel Corrie (Vision Theatre) among others. Paul is the co-founder of Cart Before The Horse Theatre. He has just retired as Head of Drama at Canterbury High School, one of Canada’s most renowned Arts high school programmes and is looking forward to new challenges!
ASSOCIATE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Megan has worked across Canada as an actor, physical theatre artist and puppeteer, and is the co-founder of Cart Before the Horse Theatre Company in Ottawa. Other recent acting credits include: Up to Low (National Arts Centre English Theatre; Magnetic North Theatre Festival), The Book of Everything (Magnus Theatre), Violet’s the Pilot (Thousand Islands Playhouse), Bridge to the Past (Theatre Wakefield), Lungs, Perfect Pie, and The Shape of a Girl (Cart Before the Horse). Megan is the recipient of the 2014 Spirit of the Capital Arts & Culture Award and a two-time Prix Rideau nominee. Having spent many summers in the Smiths Falls area, Megan is beyond excited to perform so close to home.
Originally from Gatineau, QC, Zahra is a 2017 graduate of the National Theatre School’s production program. Recent/Select Credits include, as Assistant Stage Manager: Bang Bang (Royal MTC/The Belfry). As Stage Manager: The Drawer Boy (Hudson Village Theatre), Miss Julie and The Dumbwaiter (NTSC), Resident SM for the 2017/2018 Seasons of the Gros Morne Theatre Festival, Shape of a Girl (Cart Before the Horse). As Apprentice SM: The Barber of Seville (Manitoba Opera), Buying the Farm, Vietgone, Matilda the Musical, The Humans (Royal MTC), The Halloween Tree (Geordie), Pericles Prince of Tyre (A Company of Fools). Zahra spent the 2017/18 season as the Assistant PM of Royal MTC.
COMMUNITY & MEDIA LIAISON
Roger is a well-known face in Smiths Falls. Along with his wife Lianne, they have owned Arranel Studios Ltd., a successful Photography Studio and Media Services company for 40+ years. He has been on the Board of Directors and served as President of the Smiths Falls Community Theatre Foundation and has helped to guide the development and success of The Smiths Falls Station Theatre. Roger is very pleased to be given the opportunity and challenge of bringing professional theatre to Smiths Falls.
